Wireless Design Masterclass — Network Planning with AINSORA

April 8, 2026
Training Department

Designing a wireless network that performs reliably in real-world conditions requires more than selecting the right hardware. It demands a working understanding of RF propagation, interference environments, capacity planning, and redundancy architecture. This one-day masterclass covers all four — with hands-on application to real AINSORA product data and real deployment scenarios.

Who Should Attend

This masterclass is designed for practitioners responsible for designing or specifying fixed wireless infrastructure. Experience with basic wireless networking is assumed — this is not an introductory course.

  • Network architects designing fixed wireless infrastructure for ISPs, enterprises, or public-sector operators
  • Pre-sales engineers preparing technical proposals and bid responses involving wireless backhaul or access
  • ISP technical managers planning network expansion or sector capacity upgrades
  • System integrators deploying and commissioning AINSORA equipment on customer sites
  • Defence and government planners designing tactical or permanent wireless networks

Agenda

Session 1 — Link Budget Fundamentals (90 min)

  • Tx power, antenna gain, free-space path loss, and fade margins
  • Rain fade and atmospheric absorption at 5 GHz, 6 GHz, and 60 GHz
  • Using AINSORA's link budget calculator for M20, Grid 30, and Panel 25
  • Real-world examples: why a "perfect" link budget still fails — and how to fix it

Session 2 — Frequency Planning and Interference Mitigation (90 min)

  • Spectrum survey methodology and tools
  • Channel width selection: when to use 10 MHz vs 40 MHz vs 80 MHz
  • Co-location interference: managing multiple PTMP sectors on the same tower
  • DFS, ATPC, and automatic channel selection in NexOS
  • Case study: dense urban WISP deployment with 24 sectors on a single rooftop

Session 3 — Capacity Modelling and QoS Architecture (60 min)

  • Subscriber-to-capacity ratio planning for PTMP networks
  • Overbooking strategies that work — and ones that don't
  • QoS profiles in NexOS: per-subscriber shaping, priority queues, and fairness algorithms
  • Designing for growth: when to split a sector versus adding a backhaul link

Session 4 — Redundancy and High-Availability Design (60 min)

  • N+1 backhaul redundancy with automatic failover
  • Ring topologies using PTP links
  • Multi-path routing and link aggregation
  • What 99.999% availability actually requires in practice

Session 5 — Hands-On Design Exercise (60 min)

Participants receive a real-world scenario brief covering terrain, subscriber distribution, and bandwidth requirements. Each participant designs a complete network using AINSORA products, followed by live review and direct feedback from AINSORA solutions architects.

What Participants Will Leave With

Skills and methodology:

  • A repeatable process for link budget calculation across AINSORA product lines
  • A working approach to frequency planning in co-located multi-sector environments
  • A framework for capacity modelling and overbooking decisions in PTMP networks
  • Confidence in designing for 99.99%+ availability with AINSORA equipment in practice

Materials and credentials:

  • Professional network design document template (Excel + Visio format)
  • Access to AINSORA's online link budget calculator
  • Full session recording, available for 90 days after the event
  • AINSORA Network Design Associate certificate upon completion
  • 10% discount on the first hardware order placed within 30 days of completing the course
